Dear students,
We are pleased to inform you that the Degree Distribution Ceremony for academic year 2016-17 will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 between 8.30 a.m. and 2.00 p.m.
We request you to register for the ceremony by sending a confirmation mail to exam.convocation@spit.ac.in latest by March 1, 2018. Mention “Convocation Registration” as the subject in the email. Please mention your complete details – Name, Branch, Year, etc. in the mail.
Please note that the registration will close after 5.00 p.m. on March 1, 2018. Any mails received after the specified date will not be considered for registration.
However, you may attend the ceremony and collect your degree only after the ceremony is over. The degree can be collected from the exam cell on any working day between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., after March 17, 2018.
Following are the instructions to be followed for Degree Distribution Ceremony on Saturday, 17 March 2018 from 10:00 a.m. onwards:
- To help us begin the ceremony on time, please report at the Registration Desk (Main Entrance) at 8:30 a.m.
- Please submit the following documents at the time of registration:
- College ID Card
- Photocopies of Semester VII and Semester VIII Mark sheet (for engineering students) or photocopies of Semester V and VI marksheet (for MCA students)
- Exam Fee Receipt
- Parents or friends of degree recipients, who wish to collect the degree on behalf of the students, must carry their ID cards and an authority letter (along with the documents mentioned above) and report at the Registration Desk (Main Entrance) at 8:30 a.m.
- Please observe the stipulated dress code: Full-sleeved office shirts and trousers. Girls may choose to wear Indian formals (Salwar-kameez/Sarees)
- Graduation gowns will be available on rent from 8:30 a.m. onwards near the main entrance of the Institute. Please note that graduation gowns are compulsory for all.
Note that Rs.700 will be charged to rent the gowns (Deposit: Rs.500 & Rent: Rs.200). The deposit (Rs.500) will be refunded after returning the gowns.
Also note that those who report late or those who haven’t registered will have to wait until after the function to collect their degrees from Examination Cell either on the same day or on any working day between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
